Over the last few years, the Medical Supermarket increased its product range, customer base and in turn their volume of sales. With this growth, their accounting system ‘Sage 50’, couldn’t meet their evolving needs.

Medical Supermarket turned to Xperience to help find and implement a scalable solution to handle: the company’s finances, and meet their warehousing needs whilst streamlining operations.

With Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Medical Supermarket now has all its business-critical information in one place. They have improved the accuracy and efficiency of their warehouse team, allowing them to maintain & deliver their award-winning customer service as they continue to grow.

The Challenge

With their growth, Medical Supermarket found that Sage 50 Accounts no longer met their needs, with an increasing amount of time spent working around the system.

They found within Sage 50 they were:

  • Unable to record warehouse zones & bin locations
  • Incapable of using barcodes & barcode scanning when picking orders
  • Unable to integrate their online webshop – receiving & recording sales invoices then moving into despatch for picking & shipping

All these software limitations were resulting in out-of-date information and reporting, inaccurate stock levels inefficiencies in the warehouse and an increasing amount of time spent on manual processes.

Medical Supermarket desperately needed to get real-time information from one system to maintain their award-winning customer service whilst accommodating their growth. Budget constraints meant that upgrades to the environment had to be taken in small, gradual phases but without causing further disruption.

With Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Medical Supermarket now has all its business-critical data and information in one place, along with an efficient way of managing orders and controlling stock & inventory. Medical Supermarket have automated the processes that were manual in Sage 50 – with the warehouse team now working entirely off handheld scanners, improving accuracy when picking orders. Combined with regular patching from Xperience’s support desk Medical Supermarket has access to real-time status updates removing any business disruption.
