Xperience Group Raise £928.85 for Alzheimer’s Society

Published: 12 September 2017

On Saturday 9th September, 8 people from Xperience Group took on one of the toughest races in the UK – The Vitruvian Triathlon at Rutland Water raising £928.85 for The Alzheimer’s Society.

As part of the Group’s fundraising activities in aid of the nominated charity of the year, The Alzheimer’s Society, three teams from the Peterborough office, including the managing director, took part in the award winning Vitruvian Triathlon at Rutland Water, Leicestershire.  With a two lap 1900m swim, bike course covering 85km and 21km run, the race is a very challenging test of endurance-completed by over 1000 of competitors every year.

Each team did the fantastic job of completing the race in around six hours. It was a true challenge that saw the teams push the boundaries, with some scoring their personal best times and completing their first half marathon. Motivated by a good cause, everyone outperformed to support those affected by dementia.

Nick Poncia, CRM Product Manager and one of the triathlon cyclists, commented, “Everyone was incredible and did their best, surpassing even their own expectations. This was a seriously challenging race and there were some unbelievable, and very inspiring athletes out there on the course. I think the fact that we completed it together tells you what we’re like; gritty and determined as individuals but even better as a team. Onto the next challenge!”

Everyone at Xperience Group is extremely proud of the teams’ achievement and delighted about the total raised for the research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention. The fundraising efforts add to the £875 already raised by staff in the Lisburn office who took part in the Belfast City Marathon in May. Find out more here.
