Xperience Group raise £725.92 for Cancer Research with ‘Summer Fete’ themed bake-sale. The event, which took place on Friday 29th July opened a series of events across the Group in aid of the chosen charity for 2016, Cancer Research UK

This year, Xperience Group have chosen Cancer Research UK as our nominated charity. Cancer Research UK are the world’s largest independent cancer research charity, whose aim is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. In 2015, Cancer Research UK invested £470m of donations into research and development, of which solely comes from public donations. All of the Xperience team, got involved company-wide to join in raising money for the fight against cancer.

In Peterborough,  Xperience  held a successful cake sale with a range of fantastic bakes including marble cake, chocolate malteser cake,  and rocky-road, to name a few. The team organised a ‘guess the baby’ game where employees brought in pictures of themselves as toddlers, leaving others to guess which picture belonged to who. Generous employees also donated prizes, with a raffle being held at the end of the day.

In Lisburn, all employees came together to put on a large spread of breads, cakes, buns and cookies. The generosity of staff who baked, donated and volunteered was venerable. Local customers within the business park also joined in on the festivities, by coming along to purchase cakes and make generous contributions.  Raffle tickets were sold throughout the day to win a voucher for locally based restaurant The Chipped Potato who kindly donated the prize.

Carleen Hughes, Marketing Executive at Xperience Group commented “There was a definite buzz around the office, everyone came together to make the event a huge success and raising such a remarkable sum was just the icing on the cake! –No pun intended!”

Well done and special thanks to all involved, who helped raise an impressive grand total of £725.92 to help fund vital research.
