Xperience Group is delighted to be supporting Children in Care

Published: 29 April 2019

To help mark our 50th year in business, we want to give back to local communities that have supported us. This month we have donated £600.00 to Madlug, a charity set up to support children in care across the UK and Ireland.

Madlug are a Not for Profit organisation founded by Dave Linton in 2015. With extensive experience working with youth, Dave noticed that most children in care were using bin bags to carry their belongings because they couldn’t afford to purchase a carrier bag. From that point on, Dave set out to make a difference and came up with a “Buy one Give one” approach. With every bag purchased, one is given to a child in care.

Patrick Leggett, Sales Director of Xperience Group says “Xperience Group is proud to help Madlug in any way we can. Last week, Founder Dave Linton and his colleague, Gareth Rees joined us at our Lisburn office to discuss their journey so far and all the fantastic work they’re currently doing and have planned for the near future. We want to ensure that we can contribute towards such a fantastic charity that is helping 90,000 children who are in care throughout the UK and Ireland. Many of these children have to move without warning and only have bin liners to transport their belongings. As a business we are keen to help under privileged children throughout the community in any way we can”.

How they help

The cost of every bag in their shop covers a free bag for a child in care. The bag itself is unbranded to avoid stigma and it can easily be stored away to fit into a sock drawer to save storage space. If you would like to learn more about Madlug, visit www.madlug.com.
