The latest version of Sage 50 Accounts has been launched today. Branded the “VAT Edition”, Sage 50 2014 has been designed to make managing and submitting VAT returns simpler.

A recent Sage Business Survey indicates 56% of small businesses are concerned about VAT. With the new edition of Sage 50, VAT no longer has to be a concern for any businesses. With just a few mouse clicks Sage 50 2014 allows users to submit VAT returns directly to the HMRC- opposed to completing a submission manually and uploading the information to the HMRC website.

In addition, Sage 50 2014 has brought together everything needed to calculate and verify VAT, with an in-built step–by–step process. The VAT help centre guides users through the whole VAT process highlighting any potential issues if amendments are made.

John Hinckley, Sage Accounts Products Manager at Xperience Group, comments, “VAT is not the simplest accounting task and it has been known to keep accountants up a night. Sage has introduced some great features to make VAT a walk in the park with the Sage 50 2014 release. Sage 50 2014 reduces the risk of errors and associated costly penalties, for incorrect VAT, with the new VAT verifier, which gives accountants the confidence that their VAT return contains all the transactions for the VAT period being submitted.”

As well as providing businesses with the tools to make submitting VAT even easier and quicker, the new Sage 50 2014 comes with a range of new and updated features to help with daily accounting tasks.
