Xperience Group Nominated for Fundraising Award

Published: 12 January 2016

Xperience Group has been nominated for a Diabetes UK Inspire Award for Fundraising, recognising their invaluable support for Diabetes UK.

Diabetes UK was Xperience Group’s appointed charity for 2015, chosen as the disease affects many staff, relatives and friends of the company. By supporting Diabetes UK, Xperience Group hoped to raise awareness and money to aid research, while inspiring others to support Diabetes UK. For their fundraising efforts throughout 2015, Diabetes UK has nominated Xperience Group for a Diabetes UK Inspire Award for Fundraising, the results will be announced later this year.

The fundraising efforts began early in 2015 and in May employees completed the world’s largest obstacle course, the Rat Race Dirty Weekend 2015, which consisted of 200 obstacles over 20 miles. By partaking in the race the team smashed their target of £1000 and went on to raise an astounding £3354.74 for the charity, putting them in the top 3% of 532124 fundraisers on JustGiving.com.

In December, Xperience Group donated a further £500 to Diabetes UK in place of sending out Christmas cards, bringing the overall amount raised to £3854.74 in 2015. The money raised will help improve the care and support available for people affected by the condition as well as raise awareness.

Teresa Strange, Diabetes UK Eastern Fundraiser said, “The fundraising activities of Xperience over the past year have been amazing and have contributed vital funds to Diabetes UK. The extra money will help us to build on the successes of recent years and do even more to improve life for people with diabetes and prevent more people getting Type 2.”
