Act System Requirements

Before buying software it is important to check you have the right hardware to support it. Check out our Act system requirements recommendations below.

To ensure that Act meets expectations ahead of installing it, all existing hardware needs to meet the Act System Requirements. Below are our minimum recommended specifications to operate Act. However, we recommend you contact our technical advisers before making a purchase.

Note: The specifications detailed below are for information only. Actual system requirements may vary.

 

Server Machine

  • Windows 8.1 Pro / Enterprise (32 and 64-bit)

*All current Windows Updates and Service Packs must be applied.
** SwiftPage Act Premium v19 for Web Server is NOT SUPPORTED on Small Business Server 2011.
Any server with x64 web services will not be supported with SwiftPage Act for Web.
It is not recommended to install Act for Web on a Domain Controller.
***Only supported for upgrades, not new/clean installations of Act.
****Windows 10s is not supported
***** Act v19.2 and above

Database Server

Act Pro uses SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Express. Act Premium uses SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 or your existing installation of SQL Server 2008 R2. Act has also been certified against existing installations of SQL Server 2012 and 2014 and 2016. SQL Express limits CPU cores/sockets, memory used by SQL and the size of your data file to 10GB.

For this reason, we recommend SQL Standard for any deployment over 20 users or 2GB in size. Individual performance may vary based on actual database size, hardware variations, and product usage. If you would like to use a different edition of SQL Server other than the one provided, please consult your Project Manager.

Microsoft IIS will only run in 32bit mode (cannot run on the same machine as sites that cannot run in 32bit mode)
Microsoft Office 2010* / Office 2013* / Office 2016* (Added support for 64 bit)
Anti-Virus products are recommended but should be disabled during install and re-enabled afterwards. As with any Anti-Virus product, some configuration may be required for Act! to perform properly.
IIS Server access from public networks and configured with an SSL Certificate is required for Act! Connect features.
SSL Secured Mail Services are not supported.
**Act Premium v19 for Web is not supported on Small Business Server 2011.

Please make sure that Office has been installed, registered and configured before Act! is installed.
